A big announcement came from the IT Minister of Andhra Pradesh Nara Lokesh on 9th October. He announced that TCS will set up its DC in Visakhapatnam.
TCS set up its DC in Coastal city Vizag
The current government led by Nara Chandrababu Naidu, a leader who pioneered the Information technology in India is now betting big on Andhra Pradesh.
The state which lost Hyderabad as part of its bifurcation has now very few exports in terms of Information technology. It is where the state engaged in wooing big ticket investments to the coastal city Vizag also called Visakhapatnam.
A few days ago CBN met with Tata Sons Chairman Chandrasekharan , explored setting up TCS in AP. Two days back Chandrasekaran met with IT Minister Nara Lokesh and made a pact with the state government where he agrees to set up Tata Consultancy services TCS in Visakhapatnam.
TCS Vizag Strength and Job opportunity
TCS Vizag to accommodate a massive 10000 employees once set up. Indirectly this is going to provide more job opportunities to the locals.
Apart from TCS, Additionally, discussions have been ongoing regarding the expansion of Tata-owned airlines, including Air India and Vistara, in Andhra Pradesh.
Other potential areas of investment include renewable energy, telecommunications, and food processing industries, which align with the state’s push for industrial growth under the “Swarna Andhra Pradesh” vision for 2047.
Address of TCS Vizag will be confirmed based on the land available. Probably it could probably be around Rushikonda IT park.
