Pension Distribution in AP at Secretariats, No more door to door

In the view of Election code across the nation, Election commission of India is acting quickly upon the complaints from various states. In line to it, Election Commission of India ordered Andhra Pradesh government to keep village ward volunteers away from pension distribution and any other monetary distribution activities in the state.

Accordingly the Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP) which is an autonomous society of the Department of Rural Development, Government of Andhra Pradesh has acted upon the same.

The government of AP decided not to involve grama ward volunteers in the pension distribution activities until the election code gets over.

Pension beneficiaries have to collect the function directly from village ward secretariats and secretariat staff will be involved in the distribution activity.

Beneficiaries will have to carry Aadhar or any other ID proof to collect the pension.

This process will be applicable for April, May and June month pension distribution in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Citizens for democracy and organisation filed a petition in the state high court to keep volunteers away from door to door pension distribution activities. In line to it Election Commission and then SERP have taken measures to ensure volunteers are kept totally out of government activities along with election duties. Volunteers have also been kept away from PDS door to door rice delivery operations.

Pension distribution for the month of April 2024 will begin from the 3rd of this month.
