Andhra Pradesh Minister of Housing, Kolusu Parthasarathy revealed key updates on the housing scheme in the state. He revealed these details post the review meeting held with the Chief Minister on the housing construction department.
These are the key decisions on housing scheme in AP
- The minister revealed that 1 lakh 25 thousand houses will be constructed in the state of Andhra Pradesh in the next 100 days.
- He stated that ₹8,25000,000 houses which are under construction at various stages in the state would be completed in the next year.
- He said that the previous government did not pay the dues to the beneficiaries who were benefited by the NTR housing scheme. Such dues will be paid soon.
- He revealed that the remaining land in various layouts and government places in AP will be distributed to the poor. Two cents of land in Urban and 3 cents of land in rural areas shall be provided to the eligible beneficiaries.
- For journalists, Low and Middle income groups who do not fall under free housing scheme, government will construct quality houses and distribute the eligible at discounted price.
- Similarly, as part of PM Awas 2.0 scheme where the unit price of four lakh rupees is provided to the poor, state government will explore to encash maximum benefit from it.
The minister also criticized that the previous government allocated only 1.80 lakh rupees to the beneficiaries per unit, which is less than the two lakh rupees given by the previous Telugu Desam government. He said the previous government also did not give an additional incentives or additional amount of 50 thousand rupees to SC ST beneficiaries. He stated that soon in Andhra Pradesh, the state government along with union government jointly formulate detailed guidelines to maximize the benefits to the poor.
