About Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Fellowship Programme

The Government of Tamil Nadu has introduced the two-year “Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Fellowship Programme (TNCMFP),” starting from 2022-23. It aims to harness the energy and talent of young professionals to optimize the governance processes and enhance the service delivery of various programs and policies in Tamil Nadu. The Fellows’ role will be to monitor and evaluate, identify issues, and aid data-driven decision-making on the assigned programs to address the gaps, if any, in service delivery and optimize the same in line with the global best practices. Special Programme Implementation Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu is the Nodal Department and Bharathidasan Institute of Management (BIM) Tiruchirapalli is the academic partner in the implementation of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Fellowship Programme (TNCMFP).    

  • The Government of Tamil Nadu has introduced the ”Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Fellowship Programme”.
  • This Program has been announced to tap the talent of young professionals from diverse professional and academic backgrounds.
  • The nodal department of “The Fellowship Programme” is The Special Programmed Implementation Department of Government of the Tamil Nadu.
  • The Chief Minister Fellowship Program offers the youth an opportunity ti be a part of the government.
  • The Fellows have been entrusted with the following duties and responsibilities concerning the thematic areas concerned: –
    • Identify Issues.
    • Aid data-driven.
    • Decision-Making.
    • Assigned Programme to Address the Gaps.
    • Service Delivery.
    • Optimize the same in line with the global best Practices.
  • The academic partner to implement the program is Bharathidasan Institute of Management, Tiruchirappalli.
  • Bharathidasan Institute of Management, Tiruchirapalli has a unique Social Immersion Programme for its MBA students.
  • The Academic Partner is the Nodal agency for the selection process.
  • Utilize the talent of young professionals in the execution of schemes in 12 sectors.
  • The 12 thematic areas for Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Fellowship Programme are as follows: –

  • The candidate’s selection for the fellowship Programme includes three stages of examination as follows:-
    • Preliminary Assessment (Computer-based Test)
    • Computer examination (Written Examination)
    • Personal Interview
  • The candidates shortlisted for the Personal Interview based on their performance in the comprehensive Examination.
  • Then the Final merit list of the candidates selection for the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Fellowship Program based on the combined score in the comprehensive Examination and Personal Interview.

Benefits for Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Fellowship Programme

  • The fellowship will be for two years.
  • The monthly income of the fellowship will be Rs. 65,000/.
  • Rs. 10,000/- monthly additional allowance is given for the fellowship.
  • The additional allowance is given for:- work, such as Travel, mobile phone, and data usage etc.

Eligibility for Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Fellowship Programme

  • The applicant should be a permanent resident of Tamil Nadu.
  • The age of the applicant’s age shall be between 22-30 years at the time of application.
  • Age for the following category should be :-

BC33years
MBC33years

Candidates with a Ph. D degree will be preferred.

Working Knowledge of Tamil is Mandatory.

One year Work experience will be advantage.

A candidate must hold a first-class in Bachelor’s degree in professional Courses:-

  • Engineering.
  • Medicine.
  • Law.
  • Agriculture.
  • Veterinary Science.

OR First class in Master’s Degree in Arts / Science.

How to Apply for Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Fellowship Programme

  • The Beneficiary can online apply for the Fellowship Programme.
  • The online application can be accessed through this web portal .
  • Beneficiary has to do Registration first by filling the personal details.
  • After Registration you will Login on this portal.
  • Now fill the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Fellowship Programme online application form.
  • Upload all the essential documents on the portal.
  • Preview the Application Form through and click on Submit Button to Submit it.
  • There is no application fee for the fellowship selection process.
  • Received application form will be Verified by the Special Programme Implementation Department of Tamil Nadu.
  • Applicant can check there admit card and exam date form the portal is given above .
  • Only online mode submission of application will be accepted.

Selection Process for Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Fellowship Programme

The selection process includes three stages as follows:

Stage 1 : Preliminary Assessment (Computer-based Test)

  • The Preliminary Assessment will be a Computer-based test (CBT) of objective type Multiple-choice questions carrying a maximum of 150 points.
  • There will be three sections in CBT: General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal comprehension, and logical Reasoning.
  • Negative marking of 0.33 points for every incorrect answer.

Stage 2: Computer examination (Written Examination)

  • Comprehensive Examination is a Written examination.
  • The Questions are of conventional essay type Questions will focus on General Topics.
  • Selected candidates will go to the next stage.
  • The test center will be in Chennai.
  • The candidates shortlisted for the Personal Interview based on their performance in the comprehensive Examination.

Stage 3 : Personal Interview

  • The interview will be held in Chennai only.
  • Check the Candidate’s intellectual and emotional quotient, knowledge of current affairs, and ability of systemic thinking.
  • Then the Final merit list of the candidates selected for the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Fellowship Program based on the combined score in the comprehensive Examination and Personal Interview.
  • After qualifying for all 3 stages of exams.

The final merit list will be based on the combined score from the candidates.
