Telangana Budget 2024-25 Highlights and Key Points

The Telangana government presented the full scale budget in the assembly on 25th July 2024. Deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka presented the budget with a total amount of Rs.2,91,159 crore. The government earmarked major share to Agriculture and Welfare schemes. Below are the major allocations and key highlights of the budget 2024-25.

  • Capital expenditure: Rs. 33,487 Crore
  • Income from Taxes : Rs. 1,38,181.26 Crore
  • Non-Taxes Revenue: Rs.35,208.44 Crores
  • Share from central taxes : 26.216.28 crores
  • Debt to be taken for this year: Rs.57,112 crore
  • Fiscal deficit estimate: Rs.49,255.41 crore
  • Primary deficit estimate: Rs.31,525.63 crore
  • Revenue surplus estimated at Rs.297.42 crores

Telangana Budget 2024-25 Highlights – Key Provisions

Deputy CM Batti Vikramarka who presented the budget in the Telangana Assembly stated that their budget is the main budget for agriculture. He said that his government is an agricultural government and that is why he has given a lot of attention to agriculture. The government has been making huge allocations for agriculture and agriculture allied sectors. The funds allocated by the government for various departments are given below.

Major allocations in the state budget

Agriculture: Rs.72,659 crores

Horticulture: Rs.737 crores

Animal Husbandry: Rs.1,980 crores

For Rs.500 gas cylinder scheme Rs. 723 crore

Gruha Jyothi Free Electricity scheme : Rs.2,418 crores

Rs.3836 crores for public distribution system

Rs.29,816 crores for Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Department

Rs.1,525 crores for Regional Ring Road (RRR) around GHMC

For women and child welfare Rs. 2,736 crore

SC welfare:  Rs.33,124 crores

ST welfare: Rs.17,056 crore

Minority welfare: Rs.3,003 crore

BC welfare: Rs.9,200 crore

Medical, Health Rs. 11,468 crore

Rs.16,410 crores alloted for Transco and Discoms

Forests and environment: Rs.1,064 crore

Industries Department: Rs. 2,762 crore

Rs.774 crores for the IT department

Rs.22,301 crores allocated for irrigation sector

Rs.21,292 crores for education

Rs.9,564 crores for Home Department

Rs.5,790 crores for Roads and Buildings Department
