New IT Policy in Andhra Pradesh says Minister Nara Lokesh

The newly formed government of Andhra Pradesh seems aggressive on fast tracking the development in the state.

The state has seen no big push in the last 5 years in terms of Infra and development. The newly formed government under the leadership of Nara Chandrababu Naidu has promised to develop the state by bringing more investments.

The state of AP has lost big infrastructure and industries in and around Hyderabad post bifurcation. IT sector had been a major source of income was also lost post bifurcation as more than IT exports were from Hyderabad.

The newly carved state has no big names in the IT sector barring one or two companies.

Between 2014-2019 then the Chandrababu Naidu government created some buzz and pushed big to woo IT companies. This let HCL,  State Street establish their branches in Amaravati, Capital of Andhra Pradesh. Also start up village at Vizag , Expansion of Tech Mahindra , Wipro were other few notable works in the news.

It was in 2019 where the TDP government stepped down and Jagan led YCP government came to power. However from them there has been very big criticism on the last government for not caring for infrastructure and investments in the state.

Post-thumping victory in 2024 elections TDP government again started focussing on attracting investments to the state.

It has already begun the development activities in the new capital Amaravati. Also IT ministry has been allocated to Nara Lokesh (son of Chandrababu), MLA from Mangalagiri.

In the recent statement he made , clearly stated that their government has conducted the review on IT and electronics. He stated his government will soon formulate a new IT policy policy which will be investors friendly. He also reviewed the incentive dues to be paid for already existing companies.

He stated “Soon we will bring a new policy with investor friendly policies. A plan is to be prepared to make Visakhapatnam an IT hub and Tirupati an electronics hub, I have requested the officials to specially invite all the big companies known in the field of IT and electronics to invest in the state.”

Citizens of AP are expressing immense happiness over the buzz and are very hopeful on the development.
