As the deadline given by the UIDAI to update Aadhaar details for free of cost is about to expire on March 14, (Free Aadhaar Update) is going to end on March 14, the ‘Unique Identification Authority of India’ (UIDAI) has taken a decision to extend the date again.
The last date to update aadhar documents for free of cost has been extended till June 14.
This is not for the first time the authority extended the date, it has been extending the deadline over a year.
The initial deadline was earlier till March 15, 2023, and was extended till December 14. Later it gave an opportunity to update till March 14, 2024. Now, the deadline has been extended once again till 14th June 2024.
This is applicable to all those who have completed 10 years holding the Aadhaar card. They will have to update their demographic details. For this one has to login to the UIDAI website and submit the latest identity card and address details. Documents like Ration Card, Voter ID, Kisan Photo Passbook, Passport can be used as verification documents for both identity and address. It said that TC, mark sheet, PAN/e-PAN, driving license can be used as proof of identity. Electricity, water, gas and telephone bills (not exceeding three months old) can be used as proof of address, UIDAI said. Free services will be available only through ‘My Aadhaar’ portal, it said.
