Aadhaar Document update deadline extended once again

Aadhaar Document update deadline extended once again

Aadhaar Document update: The deadline given by Udai to update Aadhaar details for free has been extended once again. If the details are not updated yet then this facility can be availed before March 14.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has once again extended the deadline for updating Aadhaar details online for free. Initially, it was allowed to update Aadhaar details free of cost only till December 14, 2023. Recently, it has given a deadline of another three months. That means you can update the details free of cost till 14 March 2024. Udai said in a statement that it has been decided to extend the deadline due to a positive response from the public. A fee has to be paid to update the Aadhaar documents after the deadline.

Uday had earlier suggested that those who have completed 10 years from the date of registration of their name for an Aadhaar card should submit appropriate documents and update the details contained therein. Henceforth, everyone should submit identity card and address verification documents at least once every ten years and update the details in the Central Identities Data Repository (CIDR). It is said that due to this process, the information of the citizens will be updated from time to time at the CIDR, which will contribute to accurate information.

Those who have completed 10 years of Aadhaar will have to update their demographic details. For this one has to log in to the Udai website and submit the latest identity card and address details. Ration Cards, Voter ID, Kisan Photo passbooks, and Passports can be used as verification documents for both identity and address. TC, mark sheet, PAN/e-PAN, and driving license can be used as proof of identity, Uday said. Electricity, water, gas, and telephone bills (not exceeding three months old) can be used as proof of address, Uday said. Scanned copies of the attestation documents have to be uploaded on the ‘My Aadhaar’ website. You can see how to do it in this video.
