Many people are waiting to apply for new Ration cards in the state. The government of Telangana formulated a cabinet sub committee earlier under the leadership of Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy for preparing detailed guidelines. The committee headed by cabinet ministers has almost finalized the guidelines.
New Ration cards in Telangana from October 2024
Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy held a meeting with the members of the Cabinet sub committee. Post the meeting he revealed key updates pertaining to the acceptance of new Ration cards in the state. He said currently there were 89.96 lakh ration cards and the government of Telangana would invite fresh applications for the ration cards effective from October 2024.
New Ration Card Eligibility in Telangana
The cabinet sub committee in principle approved the annual income range as Rs 1.5 lakh in rural areas and Rs 2 lakh in urban areas, or ownership of less than 3.5 acres of wetland or 7.5 acres of dryland and both together should not exceed 7.5 acres.
