Tamil star protagonist Dhanush ( Dhanush ) directed the gangster drama “Raayan” ( Raayan ). This being Dhanush’s 50th film, the film is distinguished by the music composed by AR Rahman. There are good expectations for this movie which is made as a hard-core action drama. Can “Ryan” meet these expectations or not? Let’s see..!!
Story:
Rayan (Dhanush) runs a fast food centre and lives happily with his younger brothers ( Sundeep Kishan & Kalidas Jayaram ) and younger sister (Dushara Vijayan). The local Don Durai and another Don Raman enter, and conflicts between Ryan and Raman begin Something to know.
Actors Performance:
Dhanush underplays in this movie. His character is very plain in many scenes. However, he showed his acting ingenuity in the crucial scenes. Dhanush’s acting & mannerisms especially in the interval block & hospital blocks are extremely popular with the mass audience. Sandeep Kishan got a good role. A character with two or three different shades. It can be said that it is almost a second hero rather than a character artist role. He has mastered his role brilliantly.
Kalidas Jayaram & Dushara Vijayan did not have much scope. The elevations given by Selvaraghavan are good. Prakash Raj‘s role was small but created an impact. SJ Suryah entertained the audience more than all of them with her role . Bhale cultivated villainy and humor. After Dhanush, the audience will connect with Raman, played by Suriya.
Technical performance:
Rahman’s music is the film’s biggest asset. It is no exaggeration to say that “Rayan” is Rahman’s best background score in recent times. If you can watch the movie in a theater with good sound… Rahman’s brilliance will make sense. Especially the way Rahman elevates the beast in Dhanush, the theaters are sure to roar. Om Prakash’s cinematography work is decent. The way the action blocks are composed is good. Especially the lighting in the dark shots has given a new flavor to the regular scenes.
Director and storyteller Dhanush’s attempt to make the gangster drama, which has already been seen hundreds of times, is as raw as possible. Action Blocks The blood that has been spilled will give a good kick to the action lovers. However.. He took too much time for character establishment. Except for the interval block, the entire first half is sufficient to establish the characters. Also, some scenes in the second half were unnecessary. Therefore.. no matter how much the audience enjoys the drama, they cannot enjoy the lag. So, Dhanush scored more marks as a director than as a storyteller.
Analysis:
Dhanush’s movie “Raayan” served the audience with good action & drama for a routine mass movie. Don’t expect too much.. Watch “Rayan” for Dhanush’s directorial talent, uncensored action scenes and Rahman’s superb background score!
