Backlash Over a Controversial Dialogue

Prakash Raj faced intense criticism for a line from the 2011 Hindi movie “Singham.” Ajay Devgn’s character Inspector Bajirao Singham was threatened by Jaikant Shikre (Prakash) in a scene from the movie, saying that he would bring 1,000 people from the Karnataka border to beat him. One lion would be enough to drive away a thousand dogs, said Ajay (who played the Maratha Bajirao Singham). The Kannadigas were not pleased with the dialogue, and they began to protest against Prakash Raj for not objecting to the scene. Later, the protest heated up when the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) demanded the deletion of the scene from the film.
