Mohanlal’s latest movie ‘Malaikottai Vaaliban’ is all set for OTT release. The movie which was released in theaters on the occasion of Republic Day, is ready to stream on one of the famous OTT platform.
Malaikottai Vaaliban to stream on Disney+ Hotstar from March 1
As per the latest reports Malaikottai Vaaliban will be streaming on ‘Disney+ Hotstar’ effective from March 1. However an official announcement in this regard is yet to be out.
Director Lizo Jose Pellisseri has made this film based on the freedom struggle of a region from the British rulers. Mohanlal played the role of wrestler Valiban. Sonali Kulkarni and Harish Parody played other key roles. The film released in theaters on January 25 received mixed reviews.
The film which was made on a big budget of Rs. 65 crore, has so far collected Rs. 25 crore. Though it is not commercial success in theatres, Mohanlal’s acting and technical support got good marks.
The director recently responded to the criticism of the film. “I welcome criticism. But, some of them are heartbreaking. We make the film working hard. The comments coming in within the first two days of its release have had a profound impact on the movie run and is not fair. A section of the audience make comments aiming the criticism. They don’t like the movie and think no one in the world should watch it. Due to their comments, all the hard work done for a year and a half for the film disappears. It hurts me a lot. Leave it if you don’t want to watch the movie. But please don’t tell others not to watch,” he appealed to the critics.
