Guntur Kaaram movie Review : Guntur Kaaram movie starring Mahesh Babu , Sreelela was released worldwide on 12th January 2024 amidst a lot of hype. As the namesake did the movie retain its spicy levels post release? Let’s find out.

Mahesh Babu-Trivikram Srinivas’ crazy combination movie “Guntur Karam” came after almost 14 years. This film, which went on for shooting for almost three years, has been troubled by various problems since the beginning of the shooting. Amidst many obstacles the movie hit the screens on January 12th with big hype. Has the magic of Mahesh-Trivikram’s combination worked positively? Did Mahesh Babu fans get the long awaited blockbuster or not? Let’s see..!!
Story:
Venkata Ramana (Mahesh Babu) grows up with the pain of being separated from his mother at the age of ten. Venkataswamy (Prakash Raj) calls him to Hyderabad and asks him to sign that he has nothing to do with his mother or his mother’s property. With that.. Ramana, who is upset, declares civil war against grandfather Venkataswamy & mother Vasundhara (Ramya krishna).
Why did Ramana turn against Vasundhara? Why there was a civil war between mother and her son? What is the role of Venkataswamy in this story? is the plot of “Guntur Kaaram”.
Actors Performance:
We will get to see a new angle of Mahesh Babu in this movie. Mahesh’s fans will enjoy the new energy that has been hidden all these years in Mahesh. Especially Mahesh’s dialogues in Guntur accent & dances done with ease stand as special attraction in the movie.
Sreeleela is seen just limited to dancing in the movie. She is portrayed glamorous but somehow she is not elevated properly. Meenakshi remained as a character artist.
Prakash Raj once again tried to prove his seniority. But.. the weight of age is clearly seen on his face and not on his body language and his acting looked very unnatural.
Jayaram, Ramya krishna, Ishwari Rao, Murali sharma, Jagapathi Babu, Rao Ramesh, Ajay Ghosh and others did justice to their roles.
The way Vennela Kishore elevates himself with his own style of comedy timing is good.
Technical Performance:
Taman’s background score is a big minus for the movie. Mixing is not good in many parts of the movie. Dialogues are not heard properly at some places. Taman did not do justice to this project as a music director except for two songs.
Cinematographers PS Vinod & Manoj Paramahamsa have given their best. Mahesh was 100% successful in making the film look beautiful and huge..
The production company has not compromised anywhere in terms of production design, art work, costumes, D.I.
However “Guntur Kaaram” will remain as one of the weakest works of director Trivikram. There are some scenes, situations and words to the extent that people respect him as a director but the script is disturbed. Often we get a doubt if Trivikram actually made this movie? The dialogues and imitations became a big minus of the movie. But… Trivikram proved his mark in the scene between Mahesh & Ramya krishna in the climax.
Analysis:
Fans can enjoy the movie “Guntur Kaaram” only if they go to the theaters to just watch just Mahesh’s charisma and energy. However.. Mahesh Mania & festival rush, so it remains to be seen how far it will be commercially safe. Otherwise, it must be said that Mahesh’s fans, who had high hopes on Trivikram, have crushed their expectations.
