The Tamil Nadu government which has presented its budget for the year 2024-25 has given a big push to the welfare schemes.
Below are the new welfare schemes and initiatives by TN govt in latest budget 2024-25.
1000 Rupees per month to boys in Tamil Nadu – Tamil Puthalvan Scheme
Under Tamil Puthalvan Scheme, Male students who studied in the government schools get 1000 Rupees per month for their higher education in line with girl students.
TamilNadu Free Bus Travel Scheme
Under this scheme the government provides free travel in state run RTC buses for women in the state.
The ‘Vidiyal Payana Thittam’ to provide free bus travel to women will be further extended to hilly areas of Nilgiris, Kodaikanal and Valparai from the coming year.
Govt allocates 500 crore for CM Breakfast scheme
The scope of ‘The Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme’ will be broadened to encompass Government-aided
schools in rural areas of the State starting from the upcoming academic year, thus benefiting around 2.5 lakh students enrolled from Class I to Class V with free Breakfast.
Big Allocation for Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thittam
Rs.1,000 per month is being directly deposited in the bank accounts of 1.15 crore women heads of households under the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai
Thittam in Tamilnadu. For this scheme, an amount of Rs.13,720 crore has been allocated in the budget for the financial year 2024-25.
Big Aid for Transgender welfare
The Government will cover all educational expenses including tuition and hostel fees for transgender individuals who want to pursue higher education.
