Age Limit for UPSC Geo-Scientist Recruitment 2024:

The candidate should have Master’s degree in Geological Science or Geology or Applied Geology or Geo- Exploration or Mineral Exploration or Engineering Geology or Marine Geology or Earth Science and Resource Management or Oceanography and Coastal Areas Studies or Petroleum Geosciences or Geochemistry from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or an educational institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed university under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 (3 of 1956) i.e. recognized University.
For Chemist Group ‘A’ in the Geological Survey of India and Scientist ‘B’ (Chemical) under C.G.W.B-
The candidate should have M. Sc. in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry from a University incorporated by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature or other educational Institutes established by an Act of the Parliament or declared to be deemed Universities under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 i.e. recognized University.
For Assistant (Chemist) Group ‘B’ in C.G.W.B.-
The candidate should have a Master of Science or Integrated Master of Science in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry or Physical Chemistry or Inorganic Chemistry or Organic Chemistry or Hydro-Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry from a recognized university or institute.

Application fee for UPSC Recruitment 2024:
The applicants must deposit an application fee of Rs. 200 for general/obc through the online mode and there is no need to pay any amount for Female/SC/ST/Persons with Benchmark Disability Candidates for UPSC Recruitment 2024.
Selection Process for UPSC Recruitment 2024:
The mode of selection for UPSC Recruitment 2024 will be based on Preliminary Examination (Objective Type Papers for 400 Marks), Main Examination (Conventional Type Papers for 600 Marks) and Personality Test/Interview ( for 200 Marks). There will be a penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the objective-type question papers. The Preliminary Examination will be held at Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cuttack, Delhi, Dispur, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna, Prayagraj (Allahabad), Shillong, Shimla, Thiruvananthapuram.
