GATE 2023 registration process started on 30 August 2022 and the link to fill out the application form is live now. GATE 2023 exam notification has been released by the conducting authority(IIT Kanpur), along with the official brochure, registration date, and application form dates. Earlier, the GATE exam 2023 dates were released. The exam will be conducted on the 4th, 5th, 11th, and 12th of February 2023 for 29 disciplines across India. GATE exam 2022 was conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur at the national level in India. Every year, the GATE exam is administered by either IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee on a rotational basis. GATE full form is the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. The GATE 2023 exam has two more new papers: Marine Engineering & Naval Architecture and Geomatics Engineering. Hence, there will be 29 papers for the GATE 2023 examination instead of 27 papers (old) available as options to get admission to IITs, NITs, and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) in India.

Before starting the application process, the candidate must ensure that he/she meets the educational eligibility criteria of GATE 2023.
A candidate who is currently studying in the 3rd or higher years of any undergraduate degree program OR has already completed any government approved degree program in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Commerce/ Arts is eligible for appearing in the GATE 2023 exam.
Some of the Professional Societies/Institutions, which conduct examination in various fields of
engineering, are as follows.
However, the candidates who possess certification from any of the professional societies must ensure that those examinations conducted by the societies are approved by MoE/ AICTE/ UGC/ UPSC as equivalent to B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Arch./ B.Planning., etc*.
Candidates who have obtained/are pursuing their qualifying degree from countries other than India: Must be currently in the 3rd or higher years or completed their Bachelor’s degree (duration: at least 3 years) in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Arts/ Commerce.
Details of eligibility criteria are given in below. However, any candidate fulfilling the above-mentioned criteria is eligible to appear for GATE 2023.
Note 1 : If a candidate is pursuing any higher degree or has already obtained a degree higher than that mentioned in the Table below the candidate will be allowed to appear for GATE 2023 examination.
Note 2 : The candidates with B.Sc./ B.A./ B.Com. degrees (3-year program) desirous to seek admission for masters programs in IITs may refer to JAM-2023 Examination.
