NHPC JE Recruitment 2025 Eligibility (General Rules)

  • Nationality: Indian nationals only. Final-year/semester students are not eligible; results must be declared by the closing date.
  • Age limit: 30 years for S1/E1 posts unless specified. Relaxations: SC/ST +5 yrs, OBC(NCL) +3 yrs, PwBD 10/13/15 yrs (UR/OBC/SC-ST), J&K domicile (01.01.1980–31.12.1989) +5 yrs, Ex-servicemen as per Govt. rules.
  • Qualification marks: 60% for UR/OBC/EWS; 50% for SC/ST/PwBD in qualifying Diploma/Degree (as applicable).
  • Diploma route: 2-year lateral entry Diploma holders in relevant disciplines with required marks are eligible.

  • UR/EWS/OBC: ₹600 + applicable taxes = ₹708 per application; bank/processing charges extra and borne by candidate.
  • SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen/Female: No fee.

    • Part-I: 140 MCQs (discipline)
    • Part-II: 30 MCQs (General Awareness)
    • Part-III: 30 MCQs (Reasoning)
  • Assistant Rajbhasha Officer & Hindi Translator (110 Qs):
    • Part-I: 40 MCQs (1 mark each) + 10 descriptive questions (10 marks each) in concerned discipline
    • Part-II: 30 MCQs (General Awareness)
    • Part-III: 30 MCQs (Reasoning)
  • Negative marking: –0.25 for each wrong MCQ; no marks for unattempted.

CBT/Written tests will be held in 19 cities: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Gangtok, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Itanagar, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Pune, Jaipur, Ranchi. Candidates can choose up to three preferred cities.

  • E1 (Assistant Rajbhasha Officer): ₹40,000–1,40,000 (IDA)

Reservation & Relaxation
