Actress Hansika who impressed the Telugu audience with successful films like ‘Deshamuduru’ and ‘Kandireega’. At present, showing her strength with the experimental films. In line with it, her latest release 105 Minutes hit the screens on the eve of Republic day. she is doing a monologue in this film which we can say is an adventure. Did the movie do justice to thrill the audience? Has it given success to Hansika? (105 Minutes Review). Let’s find out.
The story of Janu is: While Janu (Hansika) is going home in a car from office, she seems to be being chased by some invisible force… as if she has been chased to murder her. This causes extreme anxiety. Unexpected consequences take place after she reaches home. The invisible force that haunted her before… starts to torture her by binding her with an iron chain in the house. Janu makes various attempts to get out of that house to save her life. But, the power in the house stops her always. how did Janu get out of that house? did Janu kill the person? That’s the rest of the story (105 Minutes Review).
How it is: This story revolves around a single character. It takes place almost in the same house. Making the audience sit in theaters for two and a half hours with a movie like this is an adventure. The director who wrote such a concept.. the artist and the producer who came forward to believe it, need a lot of courage and gut. In this regard, Hansika and the director-producer should be congratulated. However, any experiment is of no use if it cannot be presented interestingly on screen.
A strong story and interesting scenes around it can keep the audience glued to the seats for two and a half hours. Neither of these elements are present in this film (105 Minutes Review). Although the movie begins interestingly, the story does not move forward from then on. A man’s voice repeatedly scares Janu.. She gets seriously injured in her attempt to break her shackles and escape.. And from then on she wanders around the house in pain. In addition to this, Hansika is seen screaming in pain and crying all the time. Why is that spirit harassing the Janu? What does it mean? No clarification was given on that part. No clarity is provided even in the second half. And the way the movie ends abruptly without such clarity is another big test of patience. The surprising thing is the announcement of the sequel (105 Minutes Review) at the end as if the original story had just begun.
Who did how: There is only one star Hansika in the movie and she just lived the role of Janu. But, when there is no strong story in the movie..it’s a wasted effort. No matter how good the director’s efforts are, entering the field without a proper story and stories will not get the desired result. Technically the background music is the main attraction of the film. Even if there is no story, it is the music that gives the feeling that there is something in it. The cinematography is good. Production values fall short of the story.
Strengths:
Hansika Acting
Background Music
Weakness:
Lack of story
Finally: 105 minutes , a test of your patience.
