Shreya Ghoshal is a famous singer in India, she works for Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marati, Bengali film industry as a playback singer, she was born on 12 March 1984 at Berhampore, Murshidabad, West Bengal, India, Her father’s name is Bishwajit Ghoshal who is engineer at NPCIL and her mother’s name is Sarmistha Ghoshal, she is a literature post-graduate. She has a brother named Soumyadeep Goshal.

Shreya Ghoshal did her schooling from Atomic Energy Central School No. 4, Rawatbhata, did her Higher Secondary from Atomic Energy Junior College, Rawatbhata and she went to SIES College of Arts, Science, and Commerce, Mumbai and pursued Bachelor of Arts with a major in English, she started learning music when she was four, she won All India Light Vocal Music Competition, New Delhi when she was 11 years old, she won Sa Re Ga Ma singing competition show when she was 16 years old, she got married to Shiladitya Mukhopadhyaya on 5th February 2015, they gave birth to baby boy on 22 May 2021 and named him Devyaan.

Shreya got her debut chance as a playback singer when director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s mother watched Sa Re Ga Ma show and asked him to watch her performance, after that he decided to give her a chance, he offered her to voice the female lead character Paro of his film Devdas played by Aishwarya Rai, she sung five songs in the movie, she won National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer for “Bairi Piya” song in the movie, and she also won her first Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer for “Dola Re” song from the same movie, after that she got chances from many other film makers and she became more popular singer, she won her second National Film Award for the song “Dheere Jalna” from the movie Paheli later she sung many songs in many languages, she also performed in many musical concerts and appeared as a judge shows like voice of India, Chhote Ustad, Indian Idol Junior. She was honored by Governor Ted Strickland of Ohio state in the United States declaring 26 June 2010 as “Shreya Ghoshal Day”, she is the first singer to have her wax statue at Madame Tussauds Museum in Delhi.
