The movie “Hanuman” stood like Vamanu in this Sankranti circle. The film is directed by Prashant Varma, starring Teja Sajja in the title role. Every publicity content starting from the teaser has registered good expectations for the film. Especially.. this film which has been in the news for the last few days due to the uproar regarding the distribution of theaters, has turned the audience towards them by premiering it a day earlier to gain an upper hand during Sankranti. And was “Hanuman” impressed with the content? Can Prashanthi Varma prove his mettle? Let’s find out in the review..!!

Story:

Hanumanthu (Teja Sajja) spends time doing small thefts in Anjanadri. He is going to save his beloved Meenakshi (Amrita Iyer).

Hanumanthu finds a divine pearl at the moment of death. With the help of this mani which gives immense power to Hanuman when the sun rises, he trampled the Julundari system that was oppressing the village and brought good days to Anjanadri.

Just when everything seems fine, Michael (Vinay Roy) enters Anjanadri. What trouble does Michael’s journey, which begins with the mission of finding out where Hanuman gets his power from, bring Anjanadri? Why did Hanuman get that divyamani? The film “Hanuman” is an equally interesting answer to such interesting questions.

Acting Performance:

Teja Sajja proves his stamina as an actor. He answered all those who thought that Teja is suitable for this range of films. He cultivated all the emotions like love, pain, anger and humor wonderfully. And the way the heroism is elevated with the eyes in the fight scenes is admirable.
Vinay Roy’s character is reminiscent of Jim Carrey’s characterization in the Hollywood film “Sonic: The Hedgehog” and the villain ideology of “The Incredibles”. Vinay lived the role.

Amrita Iyer impressed with her beauty as well as acting. Varalakshmi Sarath Kumar entertains with good emotions & Ooramas fight in this movie.

Getup Srinu & Vennela Kishore is not limited to just comedy scenes.. the way their characters are used for the story is good.

Samudrakham got a meaningful role after many days. He played the role of a lot of responsibility well and brought more respect to the role.

Technical Performance:

I never thought I would see this level of CG work in our Telugu cinema. It is amazing that the graphics work which gives a realistic feel which is always seen only in Hollywood movies is also present in the movie “Hanuman”. The main asset of this movie is the graphic work. Especially.. the way Anjaneyaswamy is shown in the last 10 minutes makes the hairs stand up. This level of quality in such a low budget is not common. This movie should be seen in the theater just for the quality in graphics work.

The way director Prashant Varma has presented a simple story in an unusual way is good. Especially the way children, adults and old people can enjoy the movie, the way the story is directed with simple emotions is commendable. Also.. the way the hero elevations are written is good. The design of Avocaya Fight & Preclimax Fight is very appealing to mass audience & kids. If not.. If the movie can be trimmed by 15 minutes by taking care of the lag issue, it is sure to be a blockbuster. And in the last 10 minutes Anjaneyaswamy is shown as if he is not shown.. Whatever the lead given to the sequel “Jai Hanuman” is.. it is at the level of Nabhu. Prashant Varma’s level as a director increases tenfold with the film.

Dasharadhi Shivendra is well known for his cinematography work & framings. Also.. Art work & costumes are also good. It would have been better if more care had been taken in the matter of sound designing. The effort put into preplanning is visible in the production design.

Analysis:

“Hanuman” is a must watch movie in theaters for the superbly presented last 10 minutes, Teja Sajja’s screen presence, superb graphics work, elevation given by Samudrakhani’s characterization & Prashant’s work taking. Because.. two months later I saw it on OTT and said, “Wouldn’t it have been amazing if I had seen it in the theater?” So don’t worry about that. It should be said that Prashant Varma & Teja Sajja hit Sankranthi Boni together. It won’t take long for the film to register a big hit as the attention of kids and family audiences will slowly shift towards “Hanuman”.
