Devara Movie Review: Part 1

Devara Story Line: Movie starts with Ajay, a police officer on duty searching for the smuggler called Yethi. As part of his duty to  trace out the smuggler, he enters Yerra Samudram(Red Sea) a coastal area bordering Andhra and Tamilnadu. There he meets several odd people. He comes across Narappa(Prakash Raj) who narrates him the story of Yerra Samudram and Devara (Jr.NTR).

The first half rotates in the flash back around 12 years older story. Devara (Jr NTR), Bhaira (Saif Ali Khan), Rayappa (Srikanth) and few others each one from 4 villages forming Yerra Samudram indulge in illegal activities by assisting smugglers to transport illegal goods over the sea.

In one unforeseen incident Devara realises his mistake. He resists his fellow partners from such activities. Bhaira(Saif Ali Khan) turns against Devara and forms his own gang. Devara has a son Vara.  How Devara restricts villagers from doing illegal activities over the sea? What happens to Devara finally? What is the role of Vara, son of Devara? What is the role of Tangamma(Janhvi) ? All these you will have to find on the screen.

How did the actors perform: All the actors and actresses have lived in their respective roles. NTR double action is tremendous. The scope of Janhvi is only confined to glamour in part 1.

Technical aspects: Technically the movie sounds good. No where the makers have compromised. Especially the fights sea are marvelous.

Pros and Cons

  • Poor music
  • A few scenes in the second half
  • Last scene in climax

Overall the movie is Good with mass elements. Kind of One man show but definitely entertains the audience. Though the climax is good the last scene disappoints .
