Sudigali Sudheer reached the audience on the television platform with the program ‘Jabardast’. He is currently showing his strength as a hero with a series of films. Last year with the film ‘Galodu’, he showed his strength in front of the box office and now he is ready to entertain with ‘Calling Sahasra’. And what is the story of this movie? What kind of experience did it give to the cinephiles?
Story: Ajay Srivatsava (Sudigali Sudhir) is a cyber security expert. He joins a new job in his friend’s company in Hyderabad. Memories of his sister’s murder haunt him. He invents an application called Rescue so that no other girl should be treated like her. Meanwhile, Ajay buys a new SIM one day. Since putting it on his cell, a series of calls have been coming. Ajay gets confused as all those who did that are inquiring for Sahasra. So who is the Sahasra? what happened to her He tries to find out. And what happened after that? Who is that Sahasra? What is her relationship with Ajay? Is she the unknown lover who is writing letters to Ajay in the name of Sara? Is there any link to Ajay’s sister’s death.. Sahasra’s disappearance? What does this whole story have to do with Lucifer, a dark website crime gang? What is the significance of the role of Shiva (Shiva Balaji) in this? You have to watch the movie to know that.
How it went: This is a regular average suspense thriller. They tried to give it a new look by adding a crime element like the dark web. Also, they wanted to show this point in a slightly different way between two love stories. However, neither of these two attempts could produce the right result on screen. While there is no novelty in the love stories, the way of showing the crime is very bland. When there is a cyber crime element in this movie.. when the hero becomes a cyber expert.. the steps taken by the hero to discover the crime.. the way he executes them should be interesting. But, there are no such efforts in this. Moreover, the story was given a touch of horror here and there and made the audience more confused. And the story that goes on and on throughout the serial is a test of the audience’s patience.
The film starts off interestingly by showing a crime element being done by a gang called Lucifer on the dark web. Soon Sudheer’s character was introduced with a regular fight. After that, the director played a love track and spent time with it till the break. Before the break, there is some movement in the story as the hero and his friends get caught in a murder case. Who is Sahasra in the second half? What is wrong with her? The story progresses in that sense. But, that flashback is not interesting at all. The preclimax was a very drawn out affair. At the very beginning of the movie, the audience will understand who is the person who is committing crimes in the name of Lucifer. The ending is not interesting at all.
Who did it: Sudheer impressed with his natural performance in the role of Ajay Srivatsava. But in terms of acting, the role is not challenging for him. Spandan and Dalisha as the heroines looked beautiful in the movie. These two characters have a good focus in the story. Shiva Balaji’s role in this film is somewhat surprising. If not, the audience will sense it already. Further, all other roles are limited. Although the crime element in the story written by the director is new, he has completely failed to make it interesting. The first half was completely disappointing. It has two songs. But nothing memorable. The background music and cinematography seem okay. Construction values are minimal.
