After the blockbuster hit of “Arjun Reddy/Kabir Singh”, “Animal” is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The promotional content of this film, which stars Ranbir Kapoor in the title role, has already become a hot topic. Especially after the release of the trailer, the expectations of the movie increased. And Sandeep was able to meet those expectations? Or? Let’s see..!!
Story: Ran Vijay Singh Balbir (Ranbir Kapoor) grows up with extreme love for his father since childhood. After the father, he wants to take care of everything for his family. He will go to any length for that. His love slowly transforms into domination. Vijay marries Gitanjali (Rashmika Mandanna) whom he loves because his father is goes to America to settle down.
He returns to India with his family after knowing that there was a gun attack on his father in Delhi. Who has attacked his father since then? He tries his best to find out. Who actually attacked Balbir Singh (Anil Kapoor)? What is the reason for that? How did Vijay take revenge on them? is the plot of “Animal”.
Actor’s Performance: Ranbir Kapoor’s best performance so far is a “rock star” by all. “Animal” has now changed that scale. This is a movie where Ranbir Kapoor has used his full potential as an actor. His different emotions were shown very strongly. As an actor, Ranbir Singh Balbir was the character that introduced Ranbir Kapoor’s rage to the audience.
It may take some time for him to come out of this movie/role, or it may take some time for the audience to accept him as a normal actor again. But.. “Animal” will remain as a role/movie that will never be forgotten in Ranbir Kapoor’s career. Rashmika Mandanna became an actress. Especially in the 15-minute emotional scene in the second half, her acting and dialogue delivery is very poor. As an actress, this movie will be a plus for her.
But she could not add any value to this movie. In addition, Tripti Dimri who played the role of Zoya scored high marks with less screen time. Expect more screen time from Bobby Deol. But.. he ended with the shots shown in the trailer. Therefore, the role to create a lot of impact is left to some extent. Anil Kapoor, Shakti Kapoor and others have done justice to their roles.
Technical performance: Harshavardhan Rameshwar is another hero of this movie. He became the main asset of the film with his background music. Especially some emotional drama scenes in the interval block & second half are surprised by his sound design. Being able to judge which scene needs music and which needs silence is also a great feat. After this movie, he is sure to get offers from Bollywood.
Another asset is Amit Roy’s cinematography work. In some action scenes, the way the CG work is picturized very naturally without scope is amazing. Especially the way Ranbir-Bobby fight sequence was shot gives a good high. The production design & art work are at Bollywood level. In other words, it should be said that they have spent more than necessary.
Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga.. as mentioned earlier, gave the most wild movie to the audience. Emotions, action, sentiments are all at peak levels. Ran Vijay Singh is the Alpha (ALPHA) character of Kabir Singh’s male ego. Apart from using the actor in Ranbir Kapoor to the fullest, the other characters are not just side characters, but the way they are designed to be useful for the story is good. He also gave a lot of stuff for feminists to discuss. However, Sandeep Reddy showed his strength as a director with the sentimental scenes of father and son.
Especially the last 10 minutes of Ranbir-Anil Kapoor’s conversation & post credit scene shows that the sequel is going to be more brutal. Zoya’s role in the second half may not connect to some. Especially the romantic scenes with that character are the subject of discussion. Sandeep, who scored high marks as a narrator with “Arjun Reddy”, scored high marks as a director and editor with “Animal”. The color theme set according to the transition & mood of the scenes & his talent as a DI technician.
Analysis: “Animal” is at a level that no one expected. Ranbir actor Vishwaroopam and background music by Harshavardhan Rameshwar are the main assets of the movie. “Duniya Jaladenge” song placement & end credits give a good kick to the movie. Adults can watch it as many times as possible without showing it to children by mistake. This movie is a good wild emotional ride.
