Suhas is an actor who started with small roles and rose to stardom. The films ‘Colorphoto’ and ‘Writer Padmabhushan’ brought good recognition to him. A special trend was also seen in the selection of his stories. Another film in which he recently appeared as the lead actor is ‘Ambajipeta Marriage Band’. Ambajipeta Marriage Band Story: Malli (Suhas) is a member of Ambajipet marriage band. He stays in Chirathapalli with his family. He has a sister called Padma. She works as a school teacher. Venkat Babu is the Motubari (head of village) in Chirathapalli. A rumour spreads in the village that Malli’s Sister Padma gets job bcz of illicit relationship between Venkat Babu and her.
Meanwhile Suhas(Malli) falls in love with Venkat Babu’s Sister Lakshmi. Venkat Babu has a younger brother too. One day Malli had to fight Venkat Babu’s Younger brother. This instance triggers anger in Venkat Babu. In the meantime Venkat Babu also learns about the love affair between Malli and his Sister Lakshmi. This irks hims more. He decides to take revenge on Malli and his family.
Venkat Babu calls Padma to school one night and insults her. What happened next? Which turn does the love story between Malli and Lakshmi take? To know this you need to watch the movie in theatres.
How is the movie: Movies on the background of differences, honor and love in the society are being made now and then. In Tamil industry the influence of such movies is high. Even Telugu directors bring up such stories often to the screen. However if it’s a just love story then it may not survive these days as we had seen enough love stories and we know that the audience expects some special content these days. Since this is not just a love story and the director has added revenge , plot etc into this somehow the story looks novel and watch worthy.
Telugu directors are also going to our roots and trying to reveal such stories on screen. All are getting success. This is another such attempt. (Ambajipeta Marriage Band Review) If the love between a boy and a girl was important to this story, this would have been an ordinary effort. But the director has wisely tried to emphasize the theme of self-esteem beyond the love story. That makes this movie special.
It’s a retro movie with the atmosphere of the year 2007 and the love letters of that era when cell phones were just coming out, the fun of the movie goes smoothly. On the other hand, the director has connected the caste gaps and economic inequalities naturally with the story. The story takes another turn right before the break. Till then the love story is the key, but post that self-esteem becomes the main issue.
The second half revolves around the struggle between Malli and his family. Although the story goes beyond imagination, the director has shown impact with strong scenes and drama. The scenes in the police station… the decision taken by Malli and Lakshmi saying that love should not cost lives, and the emotions that grow in that background are the main strength of the film. Flagship scenes are also impressive. Here and there some scenes seem to be dramatic and twisted by taking more freedom, but the movie shows a strong impact on the audience.
Who made it: The film proves that actors just lived in the characters. The actors have adapted to their respective roles. Suhas seems to be the right choice for the role of Malli.. His acting in emotional scenes is touching. Shivani Nagaram has done full justice to the role of Lakshmi. Sharanya Pradeep is another hero of this movie. The way she designed her character and the way she acted stands as the highlight for the movie. The roles of Nitin, Vinaya Mahadev and Jagdish Bandari as hero’s friends are impressive.
All technical departments have performed well. Shekhar Chandra’s songs, background music and Wajid Baig’s way of discovering Chiratapalli with his camera are the main strength of the movie. Editing and strong writing have changed the tone of the movie. Director Dushyant has tried to tell the story honestly without getting deviated from the story for the sake of commercials. The dialogues have depth. The director has succeeded in telling many things hard hitting. There is a lot of development in terms of making. Overall the structure is superior.
