Career
In the popular 2014 family drama Manam, which starred three generations of Akkineni actors, Akkineni made a cameo appearance. The audience immediately responded positively to Akkineni’s brief cameo. He described the experience of working on the movie with his grandfather, father, and half-brother as “nervous and exciting.” One of the most successful Telugu films of 2014 was Akkineni. The film received numerous awards, including Best Film at the Filmfare Awards, after critics called it a “classic.” He then appeared in several commercials, most notably for Titan, Mountain Dew, and Karbonn.
In 2015, he made his acting debut in V. V. Vinayak’s Akhil. The actor took part in a stunt workshop with his trainer Kicha and attended workshops in Thailand for two months to settle into the role. The movie, which starred Nithin and debutante Sayesha Saigal, began production in December 2014 and was produced by him.
The film received mixed reviews and failed at the box office despite expectations. Akkineni then took a break for two years. Despite receiving positive reviews, Akkineni’s second film, Hello, which was released in 2017 and was directed by Vikram Kumar of Manam alongside Middle-Class Abbayi, did not do well at the box office.
