We have entered the month of December. Crazy movies are released in the first week itself. All eyes are on ‘Animal’. However, smaller films are also trying their luck. ‘Atharva’ movie is also one of them. The audience who saw the teaser and trailers of these movies gave a positive response. Let’s see if this movie lives up to those expectations:
Story: Dev Atharva Karna (Karthik Raju) is a village boy. His goal is to become a policeman. He has been dreaming about it since childhood. But he has asthma and fails in physical tests. Because of this, the people of his village insult him all the time. But on the suggestion of an elder (Kancherapalem Raju) he applies to the Clues team. That effort becomes a workout. That’s how he enters the police department. He solves a big theft case with his cleverness in a short time and gets a good name for him. At the same time, Nitya (Simran Chaudhary), a junior girl whom he loved in college days, meets him again.
She works in the media as a crime reporter. At this time Nithya introduces her friend Joshni (Aira), a top heroine, to Karna. One day when Nitya and Karna go to Joshni’s house, she and her boyfriend (Shiva) die there. When Karna informed the police department about the same, they came and closed the case by saying, ‘Shiva’s boyfriend shot the heroine Joshni with a gun on suspicion and then shot himself dead’. But Karna’s investigation reveals that it was a murder. But he doesn’t get any help from the police department. And how did Karna solve this case? That is the rest of the story.
Acting Performance: Karthik Raju has previously acted in movies like ‘Kausalya Krishna Murthy’ ‘Padesave’ and ‘Operation Goldfish’. But he appeared as a full length hero in this movie. It can be said that he got pass marks with this movie in terms of looks and acting. Simran Chaudhary is also known to everyone. Impressed with movies like ‘Pagal’. It can be said that she impressed with her glamor in this movie too. Kalpika Ganesh in Sara’s role seemed to be fine.
Kabir Duhan Singh, G. Marimuthu, Kancherapalem Raju have guest appearances. However, they did their part justice. Ira and Shiva’s characters don’t get much screen space but the entire story revolves around their characters. It can be said that they also did justice to their roles.
Technician Performance: Director Mahesh Reddy’s selection point is new. In this movie, it is shown that there is a clue team in the police department and their difficulty is very much to solve every crime. In terms of the first half, it feels good. But the second half feels a bit slow. Climax is ok. Cinematography by Charan Madhavan is okay.
Sricharan Pakala has impressed with the background score. The songs, on the other hand, give a feeling of getting in the way of the serious story. Every frame says that the producer Subhash has not spared any extra expense. Some dialogues here and there are also very good.
Analysis: ‘Atharva’ is a movie made with a new point. It can be said that this weekend is like trying once.
