The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the notification for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains January 2024 Examination (Session-1) Eligible candidates can apply online for the JEE Main January 2024 Exam
Salient features of JEE MAINS 2024 Exam:
- The Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main) comprises two papers. Paper 1 is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E/B.Tech.) at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), and Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments.
- JEE (Main) is also an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs.
- Paper 2 is conducted for admission to B. Arch and B. Planning courses in the country
- The JEE (Main) – 2024 is being conducted in 02 (two) sessions for admissions in the next academic session
- JEE (Main) – 2024 Session 1 for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.) will be held between 24 January and 01 February 2024 and Session 2 will be held between 01 April and 15 April 2024. This is being done to ensure that the JEE (Main) – 2024 does not interfere with the Board examinations, which may be held at different times across the States/UTs. Paper 2A and Paper 2B (B. Arch and B. Planning) are also being held twice a year (January and April 2024)

Eligibility for JEE MAINS 2024
- Only those candidates who have passed the Class 12/equivalent examination in 2022, 2023, or those who are appearing in the Class 12/equivalent examination in 2024, are eligible to appear in JEE (Main) – 2024.
- For B.E/ B.Tech: Passed qualifying examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects
- For B.Arch: 12th Pass with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
- For B.Planning: 12th Pass with Mathematics
- For appearing in the JEE (Main) – 2023, there is no age limit for the candidates. The candidates who have passed the class 12 or equivalent examination in 2022, 2023, or appearing in 2024 irrespective of their age can appear in JEE (Main) – 2024 examination
