CAT 2025: The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) will conduct the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025 on Sunday, November 30, 2025, in three sessions across 170+ cities in India. CAT 2025 is a computer-based test and is a prerequisite for admission into postgraduate and doctoral programmes at the IIMs and other prestigious B-Schools.
Important Dates for CAT 2025
- Registration Start: August 1, 2025 (10:00 AM)
- Registration Deadline: September 13, 2025 (5:00 PM)
- Admit Card Download: November 5 to November 30, 2025
- Exam Date: November 30, 2025 (Sunday)
- Result Declaration: First week of January 2026 (Tentative)
CAT 2025 Registration Fee
₹1300 for SC, ST, and PwD candidates.
₹2600 for all other candidates.
🎓 Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for SC, ST, and PwD).
- Final year students may apply. Provisional admission is subject to certificate submission from the institution.
- Professional degrees, such as CA/CS/ICWA/FIAI, with the required percentage, are also eligible.
The percentage calculation will follow the rules of the respective university. In case CGPA is used, it must be converted based on the university’s standard or proportionally calculated.
Programmes Offered Through CAT 2025
CAT 2025 scores are valid for admission to:
- Post Graduate Programmes in Management (PGP) like MBA, MBA-HRM, MBA-BA, PGPEM, PGPPM, etc., across 21 IIMs.
- Fellow Programmes in Management (FPM/PhD) including Executive PhD tracks at various IIMs.
Candidates are advised to visit the individual IIM websites for detailed programme-specific eligibility and admission criteria.
Test Centres
The exam will be conducted in approximately 170 cities. Candidates can choose any five preferred cities during registration. Final allocation will depend on availability.
Reservation Policy
- 15% for Scheduled Caste (SC)
- 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST)
- 27% for Other Backward Classes – Non Creamy Layer (NC-OBC)
- 10% for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS)
- 5% for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD)
Valid category certificates must be uploaded during registration. No changes will be allowed post-registration. Special rules apply to candidates submitting fresh applications for OBC/EWS certificates.
Admission Process & Score Validity
Each IIM has its own selection criteria, which may include CAT scores, academic records, work experience, written assessments, and personal interviews. The CAT 2025 score is valid until December 31, 2026.
