Henley Passport Index also called HPI is a global ranking of passports which is based on the number of countries that allow visa-free travel to their passport holders. It is published quarterly by Henley & Partners, a global citizenship and residence advisory firm.
Country wise top 10 list holding the most powerful passports in 2024
Henley Passport Index rankings for the second quarter Q2 of 2024 were released and below are the revised rankings.
- -Singapore ( allows visa free travel to 195 countries)
- France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and Spain (192 countries)
- Austria, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, South Korea, and Sweden (191 countries)
- Belgium, Denmark, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom (190 countries)
- Australia and Portugal (189 countries)
- Greece and Poland (188 countries)
- Canada, Czechia, Hungary, and Malta (187 countries)
- United States (186 countries)
- Estonia, Lithuania, and the United Arab Emirates (185 countries)
- Iceland, Latvia, Slovakia, and Slovenia (Visa free travel to 184 countries)
Other major Nations Rankings (2024): India ranks 82 with Visa free travel to 58 nations(improved its ranking from 85 in February this year).
India shares this rank along with Senegal and Tazakistan.
China jumps 24 positions to 59th(with Visa free travel to 85 countries), Pakistan ranks 100 and Afghanistan got the last place and settled at 103rd rank(with only 26 visa free destinations).
