Chaitra Rai had completed her Education in Bachelor of Hotel Management her father name is Mr. B.D Vasu Rai and her mother name is Mrs. Gulabi Rai, she got married to Mr.Prasanna Shetty in 2016 and gave birth to Nishka Shetty in 2021

Her acting journey began from kannada Debut serial Kusumanjali telecastedin Udaya TV succeeded with Bombeyatavayya, Radha Kalyana, Gejje Pooje, Pournami are some of her serials in Kannada language, for Radha Kalyana she has awarded with Zee Kutumba Award for Best Preyasi category in 2014, with this popularity she was offered a role in Kannada film Jamboo Savari which is her Debut film in Kannada
