Vijay Sethupathi born as Vijaya Gurunatha Sethupathi Kalimuthu is a famous Indian film actor works in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi film industries, he was born to Kaalimuthu and Saraswathi couple on 16 January 1978 at Rajapalayam, Tamil Nadu, India, before entering into acting he was doing different jobs like salesmen, cashier and many later he moved to Dubai, United Arab Emirates and worked as an accountant there to look after his family and three sibblings.
Vijay Sethupathi has moved to Chennai after completing 6th standard, he went to MGR Higher Secondary School in Kodambakkam to complete his high school education after that he graduated from Dhanraj Baid Jain College, Chennai in B.Com, after completing his studies he worked as an accountant in a cement factory later he moved to Dubai and worked as an accountant there. In Dubai he met Jessy in online, they were in a relationship for some time and they got married in 2003, this couple gave birth to two children a son named Surya Sethupathi and a daughter named Shreeja Sethupathi, Vijay later came to India and started his own business of Interior decoration.
Vijay Sethupathi in beginning of his acting career acted in many short films and as a friend character of lead role in small Tamil films, his got his first lead role character in the film Thenmerku Paruvakaatru he was praised by critics for his acting in the film even though this film got a mixed review it won three National Film Awards which includes the Best Tamil Feature Film. Year 2012 changed the fate of Vijay he got his three films Sundarapandian, Pizza, Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom released in the same year were big successful hits films three of them are from different genres, vijay lot of appreciations from critics and audience for his performance in the films. For his performance in Pizza movie he was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Tamil and Won Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Villain for the film Sundarapandian. In later years he acted in many films in year 2017 he Won Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Tamil for the movie Vikram Vedha and in 2018 for his movie ‘96’ he won Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Tamil, in the year 2019 he stared in Rajinikanth’s film Petta in the same year his movie Super Deluxe make him Won—National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor, he made his Telugu Debut Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and Malayalam Debut movie Maarconi Mathaai in the same year 2019. For his Telugu movie Uppena in 2022 he has been nominated for Best Actor in a Negative Role – Telugu in 10th South Indian International Movie Awards. He made his Hindi Debut in the year 2023 with Mumbaikar movie. Recentry released Maharaja in 2024 is his 50th film.
