AP POLYCET 2024 Notification Released, Application Link, Eligibility Criteria and Exam Dates

AP POLYCET 2024: Polytechnic Common Entrance Test 2024. SBTET AP has released the AP PolyCET 2024 Notification, Schedule, and Online Application Form. Interested students can apply online from 20th Feb 2024 Onward. Details of the AP POLYCET 2024 Notification are explained below.

The State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh, Vijayawada will conduct the “Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (POLYCET)” for the candidates seeking admission to all Diploma Courses in Engineering / non-engineering/Technology offered at Polytechnics/institutions (including Aided and Unaided Private Polytechnics / Institutions running as 2nd shift in Pvt. Engineering Colleges) in Andhra Pradesh State for the academic year 2024 – 2025

AP POLYCET 2024 Every candidate desirous of seeking admission into the Engineering/Non-engineering Diploma course can apply online for POLYCET 2024. No separate application form for admission is prescribed. The filled-in application for POLYCET-2024 itself is an application for admission. 

For admission into Diploma Courses like Pharmacy, the entry qualification is 10 + 2 or 12th Standard. These candidates need not appear for POLYCET-2024 for admission into the said courses. A separate notification will be issued for admission to the said Diploma Courses.

AP POLYCET 2024 Eligibility

• The candidate shall be an Indian National
• Candidate should belong to the State of Andhra Pradesh as defined in G.O.(P). No. 646, Education (w) Dept., dated 10-07-1979 and its subsequent amendments.

Academic Qualifications:

• Candidates should have passed S.S.C. Examination conducted by State Board of Secondary Education, Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the Board of Secondary Education, A.P / TS, such as Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE), Indian Council for Secondary Education(ICSE), National Institute of Open School (NIOS), A.P. Open School Society (APOSS), X class examination conducted by various State Boards of Secondary Education in India with Mathematics as one of the subjects.
• Candidates belonging to NIOS / APOSS / OTHER Examinations recognized as equivalent to SSC by A.P. Govt. SHOULD HAVE PASSED ALL THE SUBJECTS including Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, with a minimum of 35% Marks in each subject.
• Candidates who appeared or are appearing for the SSC or equivalent examination being held in March 2024, and whose results are yet to be declared can also appear for POLYCET- 2024.

Age Limit:

• There is no age restriction for appearing for POLYCET-2024. However for the maximum eligible age for obtaining a scholarship, the guidelines prescribed in Memo No.10537/SW(Edn.2)/2011, and issued from time to time by Social Welfare (Edn.) The department shall apply.
• Mere appearing for POLYCET-2024 and obtaining a merit rank does not entitle a candidate to be considered for admission automatically unless the candidate fulfils the requirements laid down for admission.

AP POLYCET 2024 Application Fee

Every student appearing for the POLYCET 2024 should Pay the specified Application Fee as mentioned below.

Application Fee : 

• For OC / BC Candidates appearing for POLYCET 2024: Rs. 400/- 
• For SC / ST Candidates appearing for POLYCET 2024: Rs. 100/- 

AP POLYCET 2024 Exam Pattern 

 Examination Duration: 2 Hours (120 Minutes)

POLYCET Question Paper:
The examination (POLYCET) will be of 2 hours duration consisting of only one paper as per the syllabus in the subjects of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry of X Class (S.S.C.) Examination, March 2024 as prescribed by State Board of Secondary Education, Andhra Pradesh.

The Question paper consists of 120 questions with a choice of four responses for each question with only one correct response among them.

• (i) 50 Questions in Mathematics for 50 Marks.
• (ii) 40 Questions in Physics for 40 Marks.
• (iii) 30 Questions in Chemistry for 30 Marks.

The question paper booklet given to the Candidates shall consist of 120 multiple choice type questions in three different sections with four responses given to each question out of which only one response is correct for the given question

Candidates are requested to answer all questions. All questions carry equal marks. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

AP POLYCET 2024 Syllabus, Structure of Question Paper 

The syllabus of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry for POLYCET- 2024 is as per the syllabus prescribed for the SSC Examination of March 2024 conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Andhra Pradesh.

Structure of the question paper:
The question paper for Common Entrance Test for admission into Polytechnics consists of 120 questions.

Procedure for filling out POLYCET Online Application : 

The Candidate has to apply online from the Official Website https://polycetap.nic.in/Default.aspx

Steps in Submission of AP POLYCET 2023 Online APPLICATION:

• Fill details in the Application Form
• Upload Photo & Signature
• Pay Application fee
• Download Hall Ticket

Fill in the Application form as per the guidelines:

• First, fill the 10th Class Hall ticket No., Year of pass and Date of Birth.
• Fill your name as per school records with one letter for each box. Leave a gap between parts of your name.
• Fill your father’s name
• Fill in your date of birth in DD MM YYYY [Date / Month / Year] format.
• Fill in your address details (House Number, Village / Street, Mandal / Town / City, District, PIN code, and mobile number for correspondence.
• Fill in the place where you would like to appear for the Examination. Refer to the table Examination/help line centres.
• Enter the area code to which you are local to Andhra Pradesh
• Enter your reservation category (BC/SC/ST)
• Enter your special category, if any(CAP/SP/PH/NCC).
• Fill in minority community details (Other than Hindu) as entered in your school records.
• Fill in your willingness to appear for the examination in Urdu medium. Examination in Urdu medium will be conducted only at Guntur and Nandyal centres.
• The filled-in application form should be submitted with a payment of Rs. 400/- (OC / BC Candidates) and Rs.100/- (SC / ST Candidates)
