Shaik Rasheed Profile

Born in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, Shaik Rasheed rose to fame when he was named as the vice-captain for the India Under-19 side for the 2022 ICC Under-19 World Cup in West Indies. In the semi-final against Australia, Rasheed made 94 and instantly people began to take notice of his precocious talent.

It was not all easy early on in life for Rasheed though, his father lost his job twice while helping him out to play the game. Often the father-son duo would travel 40 kms away from their home to Mangalagiri so that Rasheed would train under state and district coaches.

All that hard work paid off as Rasheed was picked for the state age-group teams and he soon was plundering runs for Andhra Pradesh.

After not being a part of the 2022 IPL auction, Rasheed was picked for INR 20 Lakh by CSK ahead of the 2023 season.
