Initially, he represented the Pendurthi constituency (1999-2003) for the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) before shifting to Visakhapatnam West (2014-2019). During his career, he held various positions including Parliamentary incharge and President of District Sports Associations, reflecting his active involvement in politics and sports.
