The second season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) is scheduled to begin on February 23 in Bangalore. In the season opener, last year’s finalists Mumbai Indians will take on Delhi Capitals at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The final is scheduled for March 17 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
In the second match of the season, the home team Royal Challengers Bangalore will take on UP Warriors.
The five-team WPL will play matches in Bengaluru until March 4, before moving to the national capital the following day. Like the Bengaluru match, the Delhi match will begin with a match between last year’s finalists Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. All matches of the 24-day WPL 2024 will be held at 7:30 PM IST without doubleheaders. In some cases, teams may have to play back-to-back matches.
The first season of WPL was entirely held in Mumbai, with all matches played at his DY Patil Stadium and Brabourne Stadium. This season, the BCCI tried to maintain the tournament in a home-and-away format similar to the Indian Premier League (IPL) but faced operational challenges.
