Hailing from Punjab, Ramandeep is a right-handed middle-order batsman who can also pick up wickets with his medium-pace bowling. He ascended through the younger ranks before making it big with the senior squad. He first made a place in the Mohali U-16 team, scoring two centuries. Then in the Punjab U-19 Inter-District Championships four years later, he again made headlines with a century and two fifties, followed by a massive inning of 193 against Jalandhar in the Katoch Shield in 2017. Subsequently, he managed to earn a place in the U-23 set-up next and helped Punjab win U23 One Day League by scoring over 300 runs with a century and two fifties. In 2019 he made his List A debut for Punjab in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and a year later in the Ranji Trophy. The Indian all-rounder’s continual growth with Punjab in domestic colors impressed onlookers and his hard work finally paid off in 2022 after Mumbai Indians picked him up for his base price of Rs 20 lakhs.
