Mayank Dagar is an Indian cricketer who plays domestic cricket for Himachal Pradesh and Kings XI Punjab in Indian Premier League. Born on 11 November 1996 in Delhi, Dagar was 26 years of age at the time of IPL 2023. He is an all-rounder who bowls slow left-arm orthodox and bats right-handed. Mayank’s father Jitender Dagar played cricket at the university level, works as a contractor for Municipal Corporation of Delhi. Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag is a cousin of Dagar’s mother.
Dagar was part of India’s squad for 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He made his first-class debut for Himachal Pradesh in the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy on 6 October 2016. In January 2018, he was bought by the Kings XI Punjab in the 2018 IPL auction. In July 2018, he scored 19.3 in yo-yo test, beating the record of Manish Pandey who had a top score of 19.2 achieved in 2017. He was snapped up in the IPL 2023 auction by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a figure of Rs 1.8 Cr. Mayank had come into this auction at his base price of Rs 20 lakh. As soon as his name was announced, SRH and the Rajasthan Royals were involved in an aggressive bidding war to have the youngster on board. The bidding got intense as the price tag crossed Rs 1 crore mark before the 2016 winners completed the deal successfully.

Mayank Dagar Profile
Mayank Dagar was one of the promising talents of India’s U19 World Cup in 2016. Consequently, domestic cricket beckoned and he was picked up by Himachal Pradesh. Still early days in his career but Dagar has shown that he does have a good skill set and a wily temperament to boot.
