India bags the title of T20 World Cup 2024 in the Final match against South Africa held at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. India wins the T20 World Cup Title again after 17 years.
India who batted first was able to score just 176 by losing 7 wickets. Kohli was the highest scorer for India who hit 76 out of 59 balls. Axar Patel scored 47 of 31 and Shivam Dubey 27 of 16 balls.
South Africa on the other hand stepped second to chase 177 target and failed to finish the target. Though at some point looked South Africa almost bagged the title , post Klassen was out the game turned in favor of India
Quinton de Kock scored 39 of 31 balls was caught by Kuldeep Yadav. T Stubbs on the other hand added 31 of 21 balls. At one point Klassen had been the big hope for South Africa. David Miller who joined Klassen after Kock got out, added good partnership together. Klassen scored 52 runs in just 27 balls and hit 5 sixes. Miller scored runs in balls. In the final overs Jansen stepped him after Klassen however he left scoring just 2 of 4. There was some pressure built in the final overs by the Indian bowlers, however South Africa managed to overcome it to bag the title. Keshav Maharaj who stepped in after Jansen failed to do the needful.
Finally it was in the 15th over the match looked turned in favor of South Africa soon after his wicket, match turned in favour of India. Arshadeep Singh and Bumrah each took 2 wickets followed by Axar patel and Hardik Pandya who bagged each one wicket. The credit has to be given to Surya Kumar Yadav who turned six to a catch making it an easy victory for India in the final over.
At last India won the Trophy by runs. Congratulations to Team India.
