Carlos Alcaraz Bags Wimbledon second consecutive year

World’s Number 3 Tennis Player, 21 year old Carlos Alcaraz (Spain) emerges the winner of  Wimbledon men’s singles title 2024. He won 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) against his strongest opponent Novak Djokovic (Serbia), who won 24 Grand Slams so far. Alcaraz, who easily won the first two sets, had to tie the third set. It was a tough game on both sides. The match went to a tie breaker as the third set was tied at 6-6. Finally even in the tie breaker the game was neck to neck. However Alcaraz succeded in winning the same by 7-4.

Though Djokovic tried to control Alcaraz with his own strategies Alcaraz edged Djokovic 7-4 in the tie breaker to claim the title. This made him the winner of Wimbledon for the second consecutive year. Djokovic’s dream of winning this match and winning the 25th Grand Slam was shattered. His goal of surpassing Margaret Court (24 Grand Slams) to set the record for most titles in tennis was not achieved.

On the other hand, last year Wimbledon men’s singles finals were also held between these two. Alcaraz then won 1-6, 7-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 to claim his first Wimbledon title. It is noteworthy that Alcaraz, who has reached the Grand Slam finals four times, has been the winner all four times. Congratulations to Alcaraz for bagging Wimbledon Men’s Singles 2024 Title.
