Born on October 22, 1996, in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, Kuldeep Sen is a right-arm medium-fast bowler. He represents Madhya Pradesh domestically and Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League. Kuldeep’s rise to the top is nothing but inspiring for other athletes.

The eldest of three brothers and the third of five children, financially Kuldeep had some severe struggles in his younger days. His father only operated a small saloon in the village for his family’s livelihood and opposed supporting his son’s dream initially.

However, the Indian pacer kept struggling and worked on it. Rewa Cricket Academy helped the cricket to develop and coach Eril Anthony even waived off fees because of his financial condition. Kuldeep made his Ranji debut for Madhya Pradesh in November 2018 and experienced a fruitful campaign. His continual performance on the domestic field caught several eyes.

After he was listed in the auction ahead of the IPL 2022, he was bought by Rajasthan Royals for a price of Rs 20 lakhs.  The debut IPL season turned out to be a successful tenure for the pacer. Apart from bowling at a speed of 140-145 km/hr, most of his spells were economical as well. He caught the limelight in his debut game also after he defended 15 runs in the last over against Lucknow Super Giants.

He ended the season with eight wickets in seven games with a 29.63 average per game. Following an impressive IPL and domestic campaign he also got drafted to the national side in 2022. Kuldeep played his first international game against Bangladesh in the ODI series on 4 December 2022. He took two wickets in his very first international match.

  • Kuldeep Sen is an Indian cricketer, who represents Madhya Pradesh’s team in domestic cricket and Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
  • He started playing cricket at the age of thirteen and joined the Vindhya Cricket Academy, Rewa at the age of sixteen, where he showed his skills to Indian pacer Ishwar Pandey, who was impressed by him. In an interview, Kuldeep said that Ishwar bought him a new pair of spikes for a match because he could not afford them. After he was selected for the national games, the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association started taking care of his expenses.
  • Kuldeep’s father did not earn enough to fulfil the needs of his cricketer son. His father owns a salon in Rewa and spends his earnings on the education of his five children. In an interview, his father also added that he used to scold and beat Kuldeep for playing cricket when he was young. He further added,
    Today I don’t have time to eat. There are many customers. I have been doing this for the last 30 years. I am happy for my son. He has made me proud. I never supported his passion for the game.   • On 1 November 2018, he made his first-class debut when he represented Madhya Pradesh in the Ranji trophy in a test match against Tamil Nadu in Dindigul. He earned the title of the Man of the Match in the Elite B Round Three match against Punjab for bagging a total of seven wickets, with two in the second dig.
  • On 24 February 2019, he made his twenty-20 debut for Madhya Pradesh in the 2018–19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in a match against Mumbai in Indore.
