Rohan Bopanna bags Australian open at Late age

Indian tennis star player Rohan Bopanna has achieved a rare feat. He created history by winning the Australian Open doubles with his partner Ebden at a late age.

Rohan Bopanna, who was ranked number one in doubles, created history by winning Australian Open 2024 (Australian Open 2024) in the doubles category with his partner Ebden. The duo won against Italy’s pair Simone-Vavasori in the final. He won the Australian Open title for the first time in his career. Rohan who is currently 43 years old also holds the distinction of being the oldest tennis player to win a Grand Slam title.

In the final, Rohan-Ebden faced fierce competition from the pair of Simone-Vavasori. Right from the very first point, both the teams faced each other fiercely. Rohan pair won the first set 7-6 (7/0). And in the second set, the players saw neck to neck battle. At one stage, Rohan’s pair bounced back even though they were behind 3-4. But, fortunately Rohan – Ebden Jodi grabbed the match without moving to third set. It is known that recently the central government has announced the ‘Padma’ award to Rohan.
