He was appointed the cabinet minister of Water Resources in the DMK government led by MK Stalin.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2016<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>He was again elected MLA from Katpadi constituency on a DMK ticket.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2011<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Durai Murugan contested from Katpadi constituency as a DMK candidate and registered victory over Appu SRK of AIADMK.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2009<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>He was in power of the Public Works Department portfolio on 13 July 2009<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2006<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>He was elected as MLA from Katpadi of Tamil Nadu state as a member of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. After the 2006 Assembly elections, he was appointed Minister for Public Works in the Government of Tamil Nadu.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1989<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Murugan again tried his luck from his prior constituency, &#8216;Katpadi&#8217;, and won the Assembly elections.
