She is the wife of the junior United States Senator from Ohio, Vice President candidate of the Republican party, J. D. Vance\u2014her parents Krish and mother Lakshmi hail from Andhra Pradesh, India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She served as a law clerk from 2014\u20132015 for then-District of Columbia Circuit Judge Brett Kavanaugh and from 2017\u20132018 for Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts. According to her LinkedIn profile, she studied at Mt Carmel High School and had an undergraduate degree in history at Yale University in 2003. Later, she pursued an MPhil in early modern history from the University of Cambridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Usha attended Yale Law School in 2010-13, where she met JD Vance, who was also a student. She has assisted her husband during his Senate election campaigns. He has frequently praised her for her support over the years and refers to her as his \u2018Yale spirit guide\u2019.
