1. About Madilu Kit Scheme
Karnataka Government implements 'Madilu' an exclusive scheme aimed at providing maternity care to poor pregnant women in the government hospitals.
Under the scheme pregnant women who visited government hospitals and delivered children were entitled to get Rs 825 worth health kit free of cost. There were over 10 lakh delivery cases every year of which seven lakhs women were below poverty line. Over 3.5 lakh delivery cases were reported in government hospitals
Karnataka Madilu Kit Scheme is the major welfare scheme of Karnataka Government for the welfare of pregnant women.
It was started in the year 2007.
Department of Women and Child Development of Karnataka is the nodal department of this scheme.
The main objective behind launching this scheme is to promote deliveries in hospital so that the mother and child can be treated better.
Under Karnataka Madilu Kit Scheme, Government of Karnataka will provide a wellness kit to mother after delivering the child in hospital.
2. Benefits of Madilu Kit Scheme
This Kit is useful for mother and the child for their post natal period.
This Kit contains 19 daily use items which is very beneficial for both mother and child.
The approximate cost of the Madilu Kit is around Rs. 1500/-.
Women belongs to BPL Cateogry, Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe are eligibly to get Madilu Kit.
Only those women are eligible for Madilu Kit who delivers thier child in any of the following mentioned hospital :-
PHC.
CHC.
Taluk Hospitals.
District Hospitals.
Medical College Hospitals.
Women who deliver her child in private hospital will get Rs. 1,000/- in place Madilu Kit.
The Madilu Kit is given to mother for only 2 institutional deliveries.
Madilu Kit is one of the components of Samagra Mathru Aarogya Palane Scheme which is started for the welfare of pregnant and lactating women.
Pregnant Women will get Madilu Kit automatically once she delivered her child in government hospital.
3. Eligibility of Madilu Kit Scheme
Residents of Karnataka.
Following Women are eligible :-
Pregnant Women.
Women belongs to BPL Category.
Women belongs to Schedule Caste/ Tribe Category.
Women who delivers her child in Government Hospital.

Residence Proof of Karnataka.
BPL Card or Ration Card.

6. How to Apply for Madilu Kit Scheme
Pregnant women will not need to apply for Karnataka Madilu Kit Scheme separately.
Women delivering thier child in government hospital will get Madilu Kit after delivery.
Beneficiary only have to contact her area's ASHA Worker to get enroll under this scheme.
