NMMS Scheme 2023<\/strong>\u00a0is a National Means cum Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) for 8th class studying students. The Department of School Education and Literacy, Government of India invites applications for National Means Cum Merit Scholarship Scheme 2023 from students of class 9 who have secured at least 55% marks or equivalent grade in class 8 examination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scholarship aims at providing financial assistance to meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections to arrest their drop out at class 8 and encourage them to continue studies at the secondary stage.\u00a0The \u2018National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme\u2019 (NMMSS) is a Central Sector Scheme launched in May 2008 to provide scholarships for meritorious students of classes IX to XII.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NMMSS Scholarship Amount is Rs. 12000\/- for Year 2023:<\/strong>Central Govt doubled the National Means cum Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS). The state government examination board conducts the NMMS Exam in November every year. In the past Rs. 6000 rupees scholarship amount was given for NMMSS, now it has been hiked to\u00a0Rs 12,000\/-. At this present, The Government will give you a single instalment from this time<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligibility criteria to appear in NMMSS selection test: To be eligible, an applicant must \u2013<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Be a student of class 9.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Have secured at least 55% of marks or equivalent grade in class 8 examination \u00a0(relaxable by 5% for SC\/ST students).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Have secured at least 55% of marks or equivalent grade in class 7 examination to appear for the selection test for the award of scholarship \u00a0(relaxable by 5% for SC\/ST).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Have an annual family income of less than INR 3.50 Lakhs from all sources.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
<\/span>NMMS Scheme Benefits (Scholarship amount) 2023:<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
A total of 1 Lakh scholarships will be disbursed under this scheme. The selected scholars will receive INR 12000 per annum (INR 1000 per month). Scholarship of Rs. 12000\/- per annum (Rs.1000\/- per month) per student is awarded to selected students every year for study in classes from IX to XII in State Government, Government aided and local body schools.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/span>How To apply for NMMS Scheme 2023:<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through following steps..<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visit the homepage of the National Scholarship Portal and click on \u2018New Registration\u2019.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Read the guidelines carefully, select the undertaking and \u2018Continue\u2019.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Select the state of domicile, scholarship category, scheme type (scholarship scheme), gender, write the applicant\u2019s name, date of birth, mobile number, email ID.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Provide the bank details (Bank name, IFSC Code, Account Number)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Select Aadhaar or Bank Account Number as identification detail and click on the \u2018Register\u2019 button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
The mobile number will be verified and an OTP will be generated.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Now, log in using OTP and fill the form.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
An application ID and password will be generated. Use that for future references.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Note: All the applicants are advised to fill the form correctly, no changes can be made once submitted. The applicants are also advised to fill only one application as multiple applications will lead to the cancellation of the form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
