➤ Chief Minister launches Free Bus Travel scheme part of Mahalakshmi Scheme in Telangana on December 9th. Below is the detailed eligibility, Benefits of the scheme
The new government of Telanagana has implemented its 6 gurantee schemes which were announced as part of its manifesto.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has first signed on the file which converts these guarantee schemes into law as on 7th December 2023.
Effective from December 9th all eligible women in the state can travel anywhere within the borders of Telangana for free of cost. Government of Telangana has successfully launched its one of the guarantee schemes to facilitate free travel to all women in the state as part of its Mahalakshmi Guarantee scheme.
Women can travel in the below services for free of cost
- Palle Velugu Buses
- Express Buses
- City Ordinary
- Metro Express
All Woman who are residents of Telangana can travel free of cost in the above mentioned TSRTC services. They can travel all over telangana with free of cost. For inter state TSRTC Buses woman can travel free within the border and once border of state is crossed they will have to take ticket for remaining journey.
- Local Woman , Girl Children and Transgenders are eligible for this free bus travel scheme.
However beneficiaries will have to produce local address proof for this.
Any state or central govt issued proof which determines local or nativity of Telangana can be shown while traveling.
Example:
Aadhar with local address
Voter with local address
Ration card by Telangana govt
The above documents should be on beneficiary name.
Govt said it would issue zero tickets to the woman while traveling. In the first phase the government is running this scheme across all 8524 bus services in the state and has mentioned that it would consider increasing the number of services based on the demand.
97 Depots, 8524 Buses to provide free services across 35 lakh Kms area in the state to 45 lakh woman beneficiaries. Around 40% of the commuters are women and shall benefit from the scheme.
